Setting Up Your Moodle Account

Creating your account in the Moodle course management system

Go to our Moodle site. There are multiple layers of security, and you will be given access information in class. Information you enter in Moodle will be visible to the teacher, teaching assistants, and other students. The public will not be able to see any of your personal information.

Under Available Courses, click on the course you are in. You will be prompted to log in. Use the user name and password we gave you in class.

Updating Your Profile

Click on your name at the top right of the page. Put in an email address for yourself, if you want to get emailed messages from Moodle for the class (which is probably a good idea). Choose whether you want to show your email address to other members of the class. It may be best to have it hidden.

In the description, quickly write a little bit about yourself that you would like to share with the class. You will come back later (perhaps from home) and expand on this. It could be a good way to get to know other kids in the class.

If you happen to have a picture of yourself (tightly cropped around your face) handy, you can provide it.

Push Update profile.
